Coombeshead Academy music department showcase and street entertainment during the day. Christmas Parade from the War Memorial at 5pm. Father Christmas is joined by the Mayor and her escort, the Town Crier, Carnival Royalty and more. Morris dancers Black Bess and friends entertain at the Clock Tower. Free mini goodie giveaway. Father Christmas will switch on the lights from the stage at St Leonard’s Tower at 5.30pm. Firework Finale 6pm This year viewed from Highweek Way.
Victorian Evening Charity Event & Late-Night
Live music, carols and street entertainment. Children’s entertainer. Market Square and Market Walk filled with ch Last chance to purchase tickets for the Mayors Christmas draw. Santa in his Clock Tower Grotto. Courtenay Street Spectrum Music and ‘Unity in Sound’ choir in Courtenay Street.
Saturday, December 9 – Lantern Workshops

To book, please call Newton Abbot Town Council on 01626 201120 Local primary schools will again be working with Creation Myth Puppets to make lanterns for the annual Great Puppet Lante Theme for 2017 is ‘GOING INTO THE DEEP’. Schools’ workshops will be held throughout the week at Hannahs at Seale-Hayne Public workshops on Saturday, December 9, from 10am ’til 1pm and 2pm ’til 5pm, open to everyone.
Christmas Street Fayre, Lantern Parade & Late
Lantern Parade with participating local primary schools processing with their hand-made lanterns through the town centre, Market stalls throughout the town and visiting stalls in (closed-to-traffic) Queen Street; street food, live music and street en Music from JJs Arts Academy and more – Wetherspoon’s stage; Live music from Choir 86 and Spectrum Music in Courtenay

Mayor and councillors invite you to join them for carols around the Christmas tree in the Market Square at 7pm. Newton Abbot Rock Choir performs in the Market Square from 6.30pm – 8.30pm. Music from JJs Arts Academy and more – Wetherspoon’s stage. Live music from Spectrum Music in Courtenay Street.
