Christmas is coming...
THERE really is something for everyone this Christmas! We, the town council, value tradition in Newton Abbot and
this year is no exception. The town will be buzzing with its three Late Night Shopping Wednesdays that will include the Victorian Evening on December 6. We always give the most important job of switching on the
Christmas lights – to a most important person – Father Christmas himself. He takes an evening off from his busy schedule and makes the long trip to Newton Abbot just to make sure that the festive season gets properly under way.
Father Christmas at the Clock Tower
f
Children are invited to visit Father Christmas in his Clock Tower grotto on Wednesday late night shopping evenings and some Saturday lunchtimes. There is no charge to visit Father Christmas, and there is even a free bag of sweets for each child, however, a small contribu- tion to the Mayor’s Charity is greatly appreciated. Check the Town Council website to confirm dates and times.
The town council are delighted to be working with Born Hectic Events once again this year on the Saturdays of December 13 and 20, so if you would like to have a stall at one of the Christmas Street Fayres, contact Born Hectic Events and go to their website:
www.bornhecticevents.co.uk for more details. The events take place in the pedestrianised area of Courtenay Street and Queen Street, with shops staying open late.
