Christmas Cocktails RUBY WINTER CUP
The Ruby Winter Cup is a wintry version of a Pimm’s Cup. It’s a really simple cocktail with just a few ingredients and the warmth of the ginger ale helps to add a seasonal element to the drink.
Makes 1 40ml rum
20ml fruit cup 120ml ginger ale
TO GARNISH Choose from: Cinnamon Star anise Mint leaves Cloves Orange zest Redcurrants
1 Pour all the ingredients into a wine glass over ice cubes.
2 Garnish lavishly with seasonal winter ingredients.
SAINT BAVARIAN SAGE
The tonic in this cocktail adds a delicate hint of festive fi zz. Its herby tendencies make it a light and refreshing cocktail, perfect to counterbalance the decadent foods on off er at this time of year.
Makes 1
50ml dry gin 30ml fresh lemon juice 20ml icing sugar
7 sage leaves, plus 1 sprig to garnish
Mediterranean tonic water, to top up
Lemon slice, to garnish
1 Put all the ingredients, except the tonic water, into a cocktail shaker and shake well.
2 Strain into a highball glass fi lled with ice cubes, top up with the tonic water and garnish with a sprig of sage and lemon slice.
