The carnival committee held an EGM recently to select which charities would benefi t from Carnival 2018.
It was such a diffi cult decision, as each group does such great work. Therefore it was decided that the Forest Holme Hospice, Friends of Dolphin, Ashley Birthday Bank, Harlequin and Montacute School would all receive funding. In the coming months, we’ll let you know about each of them, starting this month with Friends of Dolphin.
Dolphin was conceived as a special project by the Rotary Club of Parkstone in 1979 to celebrate the
75th anniversary of
Rotary International. The aim was to provide a specially equipped, sturdy, safe boat to give free pleasure trips to disabled persons of all ages and disabilities in Poole Harbour.

Carnival Day 2018 will be held on Saturday 9th June and the Bob Hogg Sheepdog Display will be
the main arena event, which will include the ‘Lamb National’ Sheep Race. Make sure the date is in your diary.
The carnival committee has been busy booking other events, side stalls and attractions for the big day. We hold other events, such as the Family Sunday Funday, our Carnival Quiz Night and the Carnival (Fun) Run. We have booked the venue for our Skittles Night – Saturday 19th May.
