CONVENTIONS AND AWARDS BANQUETS AROUND CORNER
With all competitive trail organizations fin-
ishing the 2017 ride season, volunteers are busily planning for the well-deserved acknowledgment of outstanding performances throughout the year. NATRC and AERC in the southwest offer
regional and national recognition at their respec- tive, and sometimes combined, events. The Texas Trail Challenge Club also hosts an annual banquet. Annual awards for all organizations include
trophies, rosette ribbons, plaques, saddles and other tack, mileage medallions for horses and rid- ers, jackets and chairs, just to name a few items that are earned. Points are accumulated through- out the season based on different criteria for each organization. The National conventions feature trade
shows for great shopping, and both national and regional conventions invite well-known speak- ers who are experts in various aspects of horse care. Membership is not required to attend! The NATRC national convention will be in
Albuquerque, NM in February and the AERC national convention will be held in March in Reno, NV. Details for these and for regional events are on the respective websites. w
