Western Heritage Ranch Sorting School and Competition The Cowboy Fellowship of Atas-


cosa Co. is hosting a Ranch Sorting School and Competition December 9th at the Church Arena in Jourdanton. In the school, separate adult and youth classes will be held concurrently, begin- ning at 9:00 am on Saturday the 9th. Cost for riders is $60 if pre-registered by December 5th. After that, the cost is $75. Preregistration can be done at the site cowboyfellowship.org. Western Heritage sorting is for those


who excel in slow and quiet cattle han- dling. Riders are limited to a trot or slower, and verbal noise directed to in- fluence cattle is prohibited. Western Heritage Sorting follows other standard Cinch RSNC rules. The Western Heritage Ranch Sort-


ing School is coordinated by Cinch RSNC, and is for the ranch horse and rider team that wants to become more skilled in working cattle correctly. School classes on Saturday will in-


clude: Riding and Training Horses to Work Cattle, Working/Handling Cattle Horseback, Performance Horse Health


Status Check, and Mechanics/Strategies Used in Ranch Sorting. Breakfast, lunch and supper will be


available to purchase, from the Cowboy Fellowship Chuck Wagon Team, all day on Saturday. The day will culminate with a West-


ern Heritage Ranch Sorting Competition that will include Beginner and Rookie classes, as well as a South Texas Rancher, Cowboy/Stockman Challenge. A division in one class will be for His- panic Cowboys. Beginner and Rookie classes are


$30 per run with pick/draw partner, and a 50% payback. 6 Buckles will be awarded to Top 3 Beginner teams, and 8 buckles will be awarded to the top Rookie teams in 4 divisions. Rancher/Stockman Class is $35 per


run. It is open to any rider on any horse. This class has $1000 guaranteed added money. 50% payback. The top team will receive beautiful Dennis Moreland Tack trophy spurs. For more information visit www.cowboyfellowship.org. w
