Hampton University Women Finish Third In Hampton Invitational

SUFFOLK, Va. – After an opening round 360, the Hampton University women’s golf team cut 18 strokes off its round to finish with a 342 Tuesday and take third in the inaugural Hampton University Invitational held at Sleepy Hole Golf Course.
North Carolina A&T won the
event with a 636 total after a second- day 314, while Delaware State was second at 689 following its 341 on a rainy Tuesday. Hampton shot 702 for the event and Maryland Eastern Shore was fourth at 855 following a 446.
Jakari Harris was the low scorer for Hampton with a 78 on Tuesday
to finish at 164 and alone in fifth place. Lauren Price was tied for ninth after an 85 on Tuesday for a two-day 174 total. Lizabeth Randles came in with an 87 on Tuesday to finish with a 177 and alone in 11th, while Trelia Samuels shot a 92 to finish in 14th place with a 187.
Hampton is now off until Oct.
14-15 when they compete in the UMES Collegiate Golf Challenge in Berlin, Md.
