LIVELINE
THE BEST LIVE MUSIC FOR THE MONTHS AHEAD
October and November see an invasion of live music into Norwich, the magnitude of which will keep you aurally satisfied long after the John Lewis advert has begun to grind. Inevitably there will be tough choices to make. And if money does get tight, always remember Outline’s website and app for details of all those free pub gigs, with great local acts around the city. However, to catch the top name visitors you may well need to buy your tickets in advance to avoid disappointment later. Fasten your seat belts as we rocket through the pick of the next 60 days...
CTOBER kicks off on the 2nd with Te Amazons arriving with their new tour bus at Te
Waterfront. Check out the album sleeve to discover what happened to the last one. Burn After Reading?
Belinda Carlisle draws circles in the sand at the Nick Rayns LCR on the 4th. Heaven Is A Place On Earth. And at the UEA.
Two local acts are at Te Owl Sanctuary on the 6th. Very different in style, but both super- talented, Peach Club and Maya Law should definitely be on your October must-see list.
Back at the Nick Rayns LCR it’s busy on both the 8th and 9th with first Loyle Carner and then Dizzee Rascal hitting the stage. Hip-hop or grime? Book early for either, or both.
Norwich Sound+Vision returns to Norwich Arts Centre on the 12th, 13th, and 14th. No wristbands this year, so buy tickets separately for Diet Cig, Te Big Moon, and Peace.
Japanese psych-rockers Acid Mothers Temple caused a sensation when they appeared in Norwich last year. Tey are back on the 16th, this time at the Waterfront Studio.
Don’t forget Norwich Oxjam on the 20th and 21st. Five venues already confirmed. Watch for details of times and line-up, or just go anyway, and help raise a shed load of money for Oxfam.
Danish singer songwriter MØ is at Norwich Open on the 28th. She is excellent, but I was just chuffed at finding the correct characters on my keyboard.
If Showaddywaddy are your idea of Tree Steps To Heaven, then head to the Teatre Royal on the 29th. Hey Rock ‘n’ Roll!
OVEMBER starts with Zola Jesus at Norwich Arts Centre on the 3rd. Last seen at Latitude in
2015, and certainly not to be missed this time around, especially in a medieval church.

Oh Wonder will sparkle and wow you at the Nick Rayns LCR on the 5th. And without bonfires or fireworks. Cool guys.
Pop on a pair of mittens and make your way to Epic Studios on the 10th, where Mammal Hands’ jazz vibes will soon warm you up.
Judi Tzuke will be parking her Sportscar outside St. Andrews Hall on the 16th. I hope she doesn’t get a ticket.
Take a cuddly toy along when Roachford plays Waterfront Studio on the 18th. Andrew Roachford has also been in Mike and Te Mechanics for the last six years, so I suppose you could take a spanner instead.
Te Happy Mondays are back at the Nick Rayns LCR on the 23rd. Which is a Tursday.
Hazel O’Connor may be Breaking Glass at Norwich Open on the 28th. Ensure your drinks are served in plastic containers.
