Woman flees a bus stop aack
A WOMAN in her 20s fled in ter- ror after being sexually assaulted early in the morning at a bus stop in Maidstone. Kent Police arenowappealing for witnesses to come forward to catch her assailant. The attack was reported to have
taken place between 6.10am and 6.40am on Wednesday July 5 in Northumberland Road, Maidstone. The alleged victim was at a bus
stopwhenamanis reported to have approached her. The man is said to have shouted at the victim before pulling at her clothing making the victim fall to the ground. Kent Police said: "Thewomanwas
able to push the man away and he ran off in the direction of Cam- bridge Crescent. "The man is described as white,
aged in his 30s with black short hair. Hewas unshaven andwaswearing a black cap with black tracksuit bot- toms." Last December, a man in his 40s was sexually assaulted in the Shep-
way area of Maidstone. The incident took place on a recre-
ation ground off Cumberland Av- enue and is reported to have taken place between 7pm and 8.24pm on Tuesday, December 6. The victim was walking home through the recreation area of Shep- way when the alleged attack hap- pened. A large area of the park was cor-
doned off with police and forensic specialists combing the area. Sniffer dogswere also deployed. The incident caused a great deal
of concern locally. No one has been arrested. A police spokesman said at the
time: "Officers understand that a group ofmenwere in the area at the time and would like to speak with them as part of their enquiries, as well as anyone else who was in the area at the time.” Anyone with information about

the team” as part of aSummerFam- ily Fun Day. The charity fundraiser saw partic-
ipants at the hospital raise more than £1,000 for the for the Heart of Kent Hospice inAylesford. Visitorswere able to browse stalls
and enjoy the carnival atmosphere created by live music, a BBQ and a demonstration by the theatre team of a ‘laparoscopy game’ that may have identified a few surgeons of the future! Simon James, CEO of KIMS hos-
pital, said: “We put a lot of empha- sis on our people at KIMS Hospital and having a family fun day where
we can show our friends and family wherewe work and introduce them to our colleagues is all part of our one team approach. “Everyone worked very hard to
make this a great day. “Iamproud of our teamwhocon-
