May 27-28 shows, held at Bell County Expo in Belton, featured talented horses and riders! Saturday’s high score was 75, with Smooth Reychelle, owned by Linda Holsey and rid- den by Bill Miller, winning the Open Derby. Sunday’s top mark was 76, by Clint Kolz on Dubina Rose Ranch’s Dolls Starlight, winning the $15,000 Novice Horse class, while 75s won the Open Classic for Harry Perrin’s Sand- man Cat under John Kirby and the $1,000- Novice Rider for Josey Sikorski on Gerry Gehring’s Purrrfect.


Bluebonnet Reined Cow HA hosted its


second competition in Brenham, May 27-29. Saturday offered jackpot AQHA ranch riding and reining. Elizabeth Stevens Becker won the ranch riding jackpot, her first time to compete in that event. The biggest class Saturday was Youth Bridle, with 10 entries, won by Zoey Korenek, on Shanna Brown’s Cowhouse Foxy Mate. Sunday’s biggest class was again Youth Bridle, won by Lannie Jo Lisac on Soulanova, all the way from Colorado. Jessica Lucia and Dan San Sonita earned the $1K- NP-Ltd.
