FOR YOUR CHILDREN

This is a selection of the best apps specifically designed to make life in London with children more enjoyable.

FunKidDayz (free): This is a child and family friendly location-based guide for parents in London, and is updated weekly. There are currently more than 2,000 locations, activi- ties and events listed. This number is growing all the time and covers playgrounds, parks, after-school and weekend classes, sports, farms, attractions, coffee mornings and lots more. Parents can read and leave reviews and find locations on the maps.

BUBELE (free): This covers activities (free and paid for) in the UK in child-friendly loca- tions. Aimed at parents with children aged birth to seven, the app locates activities and venues from baby and kid-friendly shops to restaurants, museums, playgroups, play- grounds, attractions, cookery, dance, swim- ming classes, theatre, music, art and craft sessions in your current location or desig- nated area.

HOOP –What’s on for the kids (free): Hoop is for families looking for fun things to do together. Open the app and instantly find everything to do nearby including activities that are free. Everything comes with a rec- ommended age so you'll only see things that are right for your family.

OBBA (free): This is a London-based guide to kid-friendly activities, events, classes, places and services. It also lists children-related services in your area.

ZSL London Zoo (free): This app features everything you need for a visit to the zoo. Find out more about your favourite animals, create your own bespoke tour or follow one that the zoo recommends, set yourself reminders, and play the Walkabout Game, where you find and photograph animals to win Explorer trophies and Spotter badges! You can use the app to buy tickets in ad- vance, get directions and plan your visit. Once at the zoo, you can use the ‘What’s on’ section to find out about daily animal talks and events.

The Science Museum (free): This offers a range of interactive apps that include brain teasing puzzles or learning through play. These apps are designed to be used to en- hance a visit to the museum.
