AXAIR EXTEND ATEX RANGES WITH CASALS VENTILATION Left: ATEX MBX Fan.
Axair Fans UK Limited distributes ATEX Category 2 Zone 1 metal centrifugal fans for indoor or sheltered outdoor installation. All products are manufactured by Spanish supplier partner Casals and are compliant with the standards contained in ATEX Directive, ATEX 2014-34 EU as updated in April 2016 and suitable for offshore and marine applications.
Axair’s ATEx industrial fans offer extends to a wide array of fans from Casals ventilation including the MBX, MBRX and MAX range. Casals ATEX fans driven by a variety of motor types, rated outputs and speeds. In general, Casals ATEX fans comply with ATEX code Ex II 2G IIB T4, which is for surface industries excluding mining. Installation is permitted in Category 2 Gas (Zone 1) areas where any Group IIA or IIB gas diluted in air may be present in normal operation.
Casals MBx range benefits from rolled steel sheet housing with aluminium forward curved impellers. A spark proof ring constructed of copper or aluminium also added to its ATEX compliancy. The MBX range from Casals,
to, inline installation including industrial applications, clean and slightly dusty air transport, pneumatic transport and cooling of machine parts to ATEx zones 2 and 22. Hot dipped galvanised lines and fans for working temperatures up to 250 degrees with various orientations are available on request.
designed for general ventilation enclosed environments is suitable for ATEx zone 2 for gas or 22 for dust, with a working temperature up to 80 degrees Celsius.
Casals MBRX range has reinforced high efficiency backward-curved impellers in scroll sheet steel housings with epoxy powder coat finishing and is ingress protected to IP55 with class F insulation. The MBRX line of industrial fans can handle the highest air flow rates, and high static pressures can be developed using 2pole motor speeds. The MBRX range is designed for, but not limited
IMENCO UK LTD – NEW SUBSEA AND TOPSIDE PRODUCTS DRIVE NEW BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
Aberdeen based Imenco UK Ltd has actively promoted various new products to successfully drive new business opportunities during the first 5 months of 2017.
Efforts over the last few years to provide diversification from the company’s traditional oil and gas background have led to new business in aquaculture, offshore renewable energy, marine survey and most recently in nuclear.
New electronic products include a range of Imenco subsea IP cameras building on the success of the SUBvis Orca HD over Ethernet (IP) camera launched in 2015. The developments undertaken by the technical and development team in Norway have provided a family of IP cameras with or without the Imenco ‘SMART brain’, involving smaller housings, low-light, wide-angle options, multiple cameras operations from a single source, and other innovative cost and time saving efficiencies. New LEd light options have been developed in tandem to the camera family’s growth.
Beyond the successful introduction of the Piranha™ anode system (more than 1000 units sold to date), customer needs have been met on the corrosion protection front with the development of larger or bespoke anode systems to provide specific solutions to a diverse range of challenges presented in offshore wind installations in the North Sea and in late life asset extension work off the ukCS and off the coast of West Africa.
Responding to customer requirements for different helifuel options in offshore renewable energy, Imenco’s Aviation team have developed a smaller, lighter, modular based refuelling package than that normally provided to the oil and gas sector.
Imenco Bauer Hydraulics and Diinef are launching the world’s first High Torque Low Speed digital motor. This development is a significant step in the commercialization of digital motor technology offering unprecedented efficiency, double the power, advanced control functions via embedded electronics and sensors, and is controlled via a
Electric motors may be selected as EEx-e (increased safety), which is a reduced cost option with non-sparking construction, or EEx-d (explosion proof) meaning that a flame caused by an explosion within the motor cannot escape to the surrounding atmosphere. Most fans equipped with EEx-d motors have pedestals on account of the motor weight. Contact us for more information.
Axair are an industrial supplier of industrial fans including ATEX compliant ranges, however the responsibility to supply the ATEX specification including advising of the exact ATEx gas and dust zone is on the customer who should always obtain a professional diagnosis of their application.

high speed Ethernet connection.
Promotion of the IP camera products at Ocean Business 2017 in Southampton in April this year provided positive feedback and the opportunity to develop products to meet customer’s actual project specific need.
Immediate opportunities to engage face-to- face with the Imenco team to discuss product requirements have been numerous as this year has progressed. Imenco Bauer Hydraulics and Diinef were at Nor-Shipping in Oslo in May. Imenco Corrosion Technology and their parent Imenco AS were at Offshore Wind Energy 2017 in London in June; and Imenco UK were on the Subsea uk stand at the recent Oceans17 in Aberdeen.
