JULY 2017
WIN TICKETS TO RELOAD FESTIVAL
Well what a summer we’ve having, Norwich dudes. Last night my head was blown off by The Flaming Lips, next week I’m seeing the Pixies in Cambridge and I spent last weekend on the North Norfolk coast. It’s been bloody hot and I haven’t worn a pair of socks in months. Life sure is good here in N-Town.
And if you think you’ve already had enough fun for a while, thanks, well think again. Because July is Party Time in our fine city, and youknowsit. What with Pride, Lord Mayor’s, Norwich Lanes Fayre, Laugh In The Park and all sorts of other shenanigans, you’ll be feeling Tired And Emotional more days in July than not, I suspect. This is the month of sunny larks, whether in the city or in faraway fields where you can be as carefree as your spirit truly is. Check out our festival guide and enter our competition to win tickets to Reload Festival. Summer is truly all up in our grill and we can’t get enough.
Music-wise there’s a rich offering this month from Australian indie kids DMA’s, legendary U.S punk rockers The Dickies and Son Of Eazy E Out Of NWA, Lil Eazy E all playing, and we’ve spoken to them all for you. We also chatted to Abandoman, the Irish hip hop comedian, and poet Hollie McNish before their Norwich shows. We had a word with Magoo who have been making rad tunes for the last 25 years, took a look at the local live music you can expect to see at Lord Mayor’s this year, and chatted to local theatre group The Common Lot about their new free outdoor show Come Yew In. Check our photos of The Big C’s Bungee Jump, Norwich Gaming Festival and NUA’s Grad Show amongst others, and see what we thought of the grub at Namaste Village and new blockbuster Dunkirk.
You are the sunshine of my life.
It’s a Club Tropicana theme at Reload Festival at Norwich Showground this year. Running 8th-10th September, they’ve got a brilliant line up this year including Billy Ocean, Soul II Soul, Blue, Level 42, Aswad, Jocelyn Brown, Brand New Heavies, Mungo Jerry and DJ’s like Trevor Nelson, Jazzie B, Danny Rampling and Craig Charles.
There’s an exclusive opening party on Friday night just for the campers, enjoy pie and mash, craft beer, artisan pizza, and get involved in Breakfast Bingo, Silly Olympics, flash mobs, pub quizzes and dancercise. It’s a super fun weekend for everyone, especially if you still know all the words to Caribbean Queen, All Rise or Midnight At The Oasis.
You can win a pair of weekend tickets courtesy of us here at Outline! Just head to
outlineonline.co.uk to enter before the end of July.
It’s time to head back to the 1980’s, Norwich!
