The Lord’s Taverners held their annual Black Tie Snooker Evening at Buxted Park Hotel where, after a Champagne reception, fine wines and an excellent meal, snooker legend Steve Davis and Michaela Tabb – the first lady referee to be recognised by the game’s ruling body – were joined by the 15 players and their guests in the recently-refurbished snooker room. Competition was fierce, but friendly, and Steve was at his immaculate best. After a hard-fought evening the eventual winners were Ollie Scott-Smith, Robert Jackson, Mikheal Turner and Francesco Cairo. Not only did everyone have an enjoyable evening but the Lord’s Taverners raised almost £4,500 towards their next minibus project.
