You’ll fi nd no excuse not to spend time outdoors in Kent, with 4,273 miles of footpaths and cycle routes to choose from as well as more than 180 gardens to visit. Why not pop along to Sissinghurst Gardens, Goodnestone Park, Quex Gardens or Hole Park?


Heading to the coast, the magnifi cent


White Cliffs of Dover are an iconic location, and with 15 sandy bays across Margate, Broadstairs and Ramsgate, there is plenty of opportunity to spend time building some sandcastles while breathing in a bit of fresh air. Castle offers up more than 900 years of history and has 500 acres for you to explore. There’s plenty more heritage to be found at the many National Trust and English Heritage sites across the Kent. National Trust properties include the 14th century moated manor house Ightham Mote, the family home of Sir Winston Churchill Chartwell, Knole House in Sevenoaks and Scotney Castle in Lamberhurst. Meanwhile English Heritage offers the chance to explore Bayham Abbey, Deal, Eynsford, Rochester, Upnor and Walmer castles and Down House, the home of Charles Darwin.
