News Lorry park’s
review delay AJUDICIAL review into plans for a huge lorry park off the M20 to ease the chaos created by Operation Stack has been delayed until the autumn. Opponents of the scheme – on a
rural, 250-acre site at Stanford, near Folkestone – say a judicial review scheduled for June will now not be heard until October. The lorry park would eventually
be used to park 3,600 vehicles which would otherwise be "stacked" on the motorway from junction 8 at Leeds Castle all the way to the Channel Tunnel. The delay is being caused by the General Election and because the owners ofWestenhanger Castle are still seeking a compromise deal.

Autumn lands a role in bank’s TV advert
A LANGLEY teenager has made her debut television appearance in the latest advert for Lloyds bank.
Cornwallis Academy pupil Au-
tumn Gale appears at the start of the commercial, covering hay bales during a heavy downpour, when the company’s iconic black horse gallops past to a theatrical version of Praise You by Fatboy Silm. The 14-year-old travelled to
Wales to film her part in freezing temperatures alongside the famous horse, which had three body dou- bles on set. The Langley resident said: “Iwas
wearing seven layers of clothing, including a heat pack, but it was still really cold. “I was really excited when I
Autumn Gale
found out I had got the part. I was selected first and then they audi- tioned people for the role of my dad. It was a great experience and something I would want to do again.” The year nine student has a pas- sion for all aspects of performing
arts, including music, dance and acting. She has appeared in a num- ber of West End shows, including The Secret Garden, and will soon be featuring in the upcoming pro- duction of 13 The Musical, but this has been her first experience of being on television. Autumn said: “I’ve had quite a
few messages since the advert aired from people saying they’ve seen me on the TV, which is really cool and a bit surreal.” AprilWatts, head of performing
arts at Cornwallis Academy, in Hubbards Lane, Linton, said: “Au- tumn is a fantastic student and re- ally enjoys all areas of performing arts.
“She is always involved with
every production, whether it’s a music concert, a dance show or a drama performance, and she al- ways gives 110%. “I look forward to seeing her continue to shine on screen and on the stage.”
