The airfield hosts special events throughout the year and will be hosting the Battle of Britain Air Show on July 8 and 9 when an airfield attack scenario by vintage fighter planes will form part of the display. The event includes attractions for all the family, with flight experiences, a funfair and stalls.


Neighbouring Staplehurst lies on the A229 with its High Street following the line of the busy main road and 12th century All Saints’ Church at its highest point


During the last few years, the Hush Heath Estate has become renowned for its pink sparkling wine which has won awards. The stunning 400-acre estate, boasts vast ancient oak


woodlands, vineyards, orchards and meadows, which visitors can explore.


The estate is immaculately kept, it's 40 acres of vines flourish in Hush Heath's own warm micro-climate which helps to create vibrant, fruity wines.


Guided tours are available, but must be pre-booked. Or turn up for a tasting, and you'll receive a warm welcome whatever your wine knowledge.


The village has a strong community spirit and one of the highlights of the year is the annual carnival and fete. The 2017 event will be held on Saturday, June 24, at Surrenden Playing Field, promising “an extravaganza of fun and entertainment for everyone”.
