Gibbons adds agricultural fans to its portfolio
Essex-based Gibbons Engineer- ing Group has added a high-per- formance range of steel and alu- minium agricultural fans to its product offering ahead of the busy harvest period.
The centrifugal fans, which
have been manufactured to the highest specifi cation for 20 years, are designed for cooling and dry- ing wheat, barley and other crops in grain stores in order to main- tain quality and prevent costly claims and rejections.
The 0.13 – 2.2 kW fans are
available as single phase or three phase, with a free delivery ser- vice available for customers with- in a 50-mile radius of the Gibbons workshop, which is at based at Tollesbury, near Maldon. Director Matthew Gibbons

Chiller unit helps extend storage life for seed potatoes
Andrews Chiller Hire has sup- plied one of its FC90 chiller units to help a Lincolnshire grower over- come potential problems caused by seasonal heat during storage of seed potatoes. The Fast Chill FC90 industrial
chiller was introduced by Andrews to provide a swift solution for tem- perature control within the food and related industries. It helps to prevent excessive sprouting and the development of viral and bac- terial agents within the crop itself. The machine can be operation-
al within minutes of delivery. And unlike some conventional chillers, apart from a three-phase power supply, there is no requirement for additional services such as water fi ll or refrigeration connection. Stored crop spoilage among in potatoes is generally associated with mould or insect activity, nor- mally related to moisture content and product temperature. Keep- ing crops and other produce at the right temperature is vitally im- portant for its longevity, condition and edibility.
