Welcome to the June issue


It’s the General Election this month, so you may notice that our councillors have taken a break in this issue. Don’t worry, they will be back next month to update you on local issues in their columns.


It’s the final build-up to the Corfe Mullen Carnival this month on Saturday 10th June. The popular street procession starts at 1pm. At the recreation ground, over 60 stalls and attractions have been booked – including the Tigers Children Motorcycle Display Team. Get full details of what’s in store on pages 6-7.


Welcome to Corfe Mullen Community Aid on page 10, which offers local residents lifts to health-related appointments for a donation. They are also looking for drivers if you have a few hours to spare.


It has been great to receive a regular update from Corfe Hills Schools (pg34) in recent issues and we look forward to continuing to hear about their successes and extra-curricular activities. If your children are at middle school, note that Poole and Parkstone Grammar Schools have their open evenings in July – find the details on page 43.


See pages 39, 40-41 for details of many of the local events that are on this month, including the Springdale School Summer Sizzler, children’s and jumble sales, garden parties, cream teas and concerts. Corfe Mullen Royal British Legion also has a number of events and activities planned (pg45).
