Go Wild In June

Nature is calling this June for all to join the Wildlife Trusts’ 30 Days Wild initiative.

The challenge, brimming with motivation, wild ideas and examples of activities, has been set up to encourage everyone to get involved with all things wild. The initiative promotes the improved mental and physical wellbeing gained from interacting with nature, and aims to increase awareness on how to protect our invaluable environment.

A Random Act of Wildness, the theme at the centre of the challenge, is about making time daily to connect with the natural world, or simply carrying out a small act to help the environment. You can use ideas you get in the pack as inspiration or create your own Random Acts. It’s also about experiencing, learning about, and helping wildlife in Dorset: the smallest act, such as putting up a bee hotel in your garden, can make a big difference to the little creatures all around us. The Acts of Wildness range from creating an urban haven for hedgehogs to being a citizen scientist and conducting surveys to writing a wildlife poem, or indulging in a therapeutic nap outdoors. The opportunities are endless, and the benefi ts immeasurable, both for you and the environment.

To sign up for your free pack of ideas, along with a wild badge and a funky wallchart to track your progress, visit www.
