Hi all.
I was recently out for a drive on a nice sunny Friday afternoon, and decided to call by the Rock House Bar at La Marina for a liquid refreshment.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover there was live music being performed at that time. The band playing were "Done & Dusted", who are a very popular band here on the Southern Costa Blanca. I have been wanting to hear them for some time now - and here was my opportunity.
The musical line up of this combo is: Rae Daniels - Lead guitar / vocals. Trace Graham - Bass guitar / vocals. Lee Donovan - Drums / vocals. Pete Rafferty - Harmonica / vocals.
The names will be very familiar to most of you, as apart from this musical line up they are all involved in other musical projects locally. All members of this band are veteran musicians, which was very apparent during the afternoon performance. The venue was packed to capacity, which is testament to their popularity (I eventually found a seat).
The audience were treated to an afternoon 'Done & Dusted', playing a vast range of songs, covering most genres of music from across the decades. From Lennon & McCartney, Dire Straits, Everly Brothers, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Rock 'n Roll standards and many more classic numbers that took me back in time, to my teenage years - far too numerous to mention.
The Harmonica solos and fill ins, from Pete Rafferty were brilliant .... the icing on an already fantastic cake!
The afternoon passed too quickly for me, and I could see, the audience were loving it. I just love these musical journeys down 'Memory Lane'. And judging by the reaction of everyone present ... I wasn't the only one.
If you haven't already visited this venue on a Friday afternoon - I highly recommend it. Alternatively,
