It all started in 1942, when a local school district asked community leader and body shop owner George Krapf Jr. to help transport students to the high school. 75 years later, the Downington Area School District is still a customer, and Krapf has become one of the largest family-owned school bus contractors in the nation. Operating more than 1,300 school buses in three states, George Krapf Jr.’s legacy lives on—now providing safe transport for more than 95,000 students each day during the school year.
