ADOMANI Electrifies Alternative- Fuel School Bus Conversation

he industry’s all-electric school bus options dou- bled in a matter of minutes last month at the STN EXPO. Responsible for one of these developments is ADOMANI, Inc., heretofore a converter of older diesel school buses to electric drivetrains. Te company based in Newport Beach, California lept into the new vehicle manufacturing landscape this spring and summer alongside partner Blue Bird with the unveiling of an electrified chassis for the Type-D All American school bus, which Blue Bird said will be in production by next year. Te news came on the heels of ADOMANI completing its initial public offering on the NASDAQ in June and taking receipt of another all-electric, transit-style school bus devel- oped with Greenpower that is eligible under the California Air Resources Board’s Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher program. We caught up recently with Jim Reynolds, ADOMANI

public? Jim Reynolds: Te road from electric vehicle research and
development to commercialization is capital intensive. We have been fortunate to live and work in a state that is in the forefront of this switch from R&D spending to spending for vehicles that can be sold commercially. At this stage of our development we felt it was time to move with the State of California and the rest of the country and needed capital to accomplish this. Tis was a natural progression for us, and interestingly some of our vendors, suppliers and technology partners respect and appreciate the visibility and accountability that are required of a public company like ADOMANI.
