L

ocated in Salerno Port Village on the Amalfi Coast of Italy, Marina d’Arechi is now complete and in 2017

will enter the international nautical market as one of the world’s most significant marinas. Situated within a UNESCO World Heritage site, the marina is not only a home port for those wishing to explore some of the world’s finest cruising waters, but also a destination in its own right. A gateway to the Amalfi Coast, it provides unrivalled access by yacht to Positano, Capri, Ischia, Ravello, Pompeii and Naples. A private investment of 120

million Euros by the Gallozzi Group (80 million Euros of which was concentrated on the marina infrastructure) sees Marina d’Arechi rank as one of the most important tourist facilities ever built in the South of Italy. The project has also been recognised as a symbol of how to develop a new enterprise in the country, despite the severe crisis affecting the world economy. With 1,000 berths – 80

buildings. The harbour was designed around a fundamental architectural choice, with the concept being that of a nautical island connected to the mainland by a bridge. This marina is said to be the

largest of its kind with 340,000 sq m of water basin dedicated to yachts and is up-to-date in terms of service quality and safety standards. It is also eco-friendly in its design due to the use of natural materials such as the mosaic style natural rock breakwater; pontoon decking made of recycled wood; sustainable furnishings plus the latest water and waste recycling systems. This innovative marina concept

is the brain-child of Agostino Gallozzi, Chairman of the Gallozzi Group and Marina d’Arechi. The project began in 2,000 and the first stone was laid in 2,010 after a series of complex administrative and legistrative procedures and, of course, the global economic crisis. By Summer, 2012, just two

years later, the first berths were inaugurated and the first yachts arrived. By the end of 2016, the entire infrastructure was completed. Agostino Gallozzi stated, “For

anyone living in Salerno, sailing and yachting on the Amalfi Coast is the ideal way of enjoying weekends and holidays with friends and family throughout the year. From the age of 15, sailing the Mediterranean waters I visited so many marinas, none of which really satisfied me 100%. Over time, I developed the idea of building the ultimate marina – the amalgamation of all my nautical experiences, the result of my passion for the sea, in my own town where the sunset is breath-taking and Summer never ends. It had to be an amazing marina, beautiful and perfect, safe, comfortable, friendly and enjoyable every day of the year, state-of-the- art in technology, the place where you want to be all the time. Now, I’m proud to say after years in the planning, Marina d’Arechi is born”.
