‘Dubai Harbour’ will feature 1,400-berth marina The development of ‘Dubai Harbour’, a unique new waterfront destination that will feature the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region’s largest marina has been announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. To be developed by Meraas, the
project is located on King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street in the area between Jumeirah Beach Residence and Palm Jumeirah, also known as Mina Al Seyahi. The iconic luxury waterfront
destination, spread over 20 million sq ft, will include a 1,400-berth marina, which will expand Dubai’s yacht capacity by 50% from the current 3,000 berths. The new marina at ‘Dubai Harbour’ will particularly appeal to owners of large yachts, since craft up to 85 metres in length can dock at its berths.
Business boost for Marinetek An extensive efficiency enhancement and development programme has been launched by Marinetek, which is aimed to strengthen its competitiveness, particularly in the Northern European market and for international marina projects. In an initial move, concrete float production will be transferred to Marinetek’s larger production units in Latvia and Sweden. Marinetek’s local site operations in Finland will focus solely on the assembly and delivery of pontoons. The company’s head office
will remain in Finland and will house engineering, R&D, sales and technical support departments. Customer operations will be enhanced by cross-country resources within Northern Europe.
Hartford Marina joins the Tingdene Group It was recently announced that Tingdene Marinas Ltd has completed its acquisition of Hartford Marina at the heart of The Fens in the East of England. It is the ninth marina to join the Tingdene network of quality inland havens that now extend across the Thames, Wey, Severn, Norfolk Broads and the Fenland waterways. The 200-berth Hartford Marina
is situated in an extremely attractive country setting on the River Great Ouse in Wyton, Cambridgeshire. It can be accessed from the coast via The Wash or from the canal network via the River Nene and Middle Levels. The marina offers a full range
of services, including a workshop, chandlery, fuel and gas, and pump-out faciilties. Boat crews are similarly well-catered for with toilets, showers and a laundry.
Film fit for a Princess Princess Yachts has launched its most ambitious film to date with a new production showing the brand’s six largest yachts, with a combined value of just over €70 million, together on the water in perfect formation at Limassol Marina. The never-seen- before display was captured at the Princess Heads of Business conference in Cyprus, a unique programme for the brand’s global network of distributors. Featuring the Princess 40M, 35M and 30M from the M Class superyacht range and the 88, 82 and 75 from the Motor Yacht range, the video and images were captured by renowned marine photographer and videographer Quin Bisset over the course of several hours using state-of- the-art equipment and drones.
