1898 Imperf 20pa violet, 1898-99 10pa(both),20pa(both) used on an envelope to Cherominus(?) - probably Chersonissos with Heraklion straight line cancels, the imperf 20pa and perf 10pa brown are tied, straight line blue backstamp in Greek. Interesting letter accompanies this cover from a Mr. Dickson, may be the Postmaster, ‘the mauve stamp we had printed locally...while the others were being printed abroad,only 3,000 copies were issued...it struck me that it might be interesting to have all the issues on a single letter...it actually went through the post and was afterwards returned to us.’ Unusual item Cat. £1902 US ........£1068
