1859-1924 POSTMARK COLLECTION on leaves(391 stamps, 3 covers) neatly laid out with typed descriptions of the history of each cancel. The collection commences with Great Britain 6d lilac on 1859 mourning envelope Kingston to Ayr, then follows A01 cancels on Pineapple and CC values to 1s. The main body of the collection is a fantastic assembly of Town numeral cancellations. Generally with about four or five of each numeral, the collection includes every numeral between A27 and A78 as listed under G.B. used in Jamaica inc the scarce A63 Pear Tree Grove(3), then later numerals A79 Richmond & Balaclava, A80 Hagly Gap, A81 Pedro, A82 Middle Quarters, A83 Trinity Village, E06, E30, E58, F80, F81, F95, G13-G16. These are mainly on wmk Pineapple or wmk CC issues to 1s. Then follows English Numeral cancels withdrawn from use and sent to Jamaica, such as 193 changed from Sodbury,Glos. to Cold Spring, used 1874-77, numbers of these up to 647. Finally, a selection of coloured cancels on Jamaica stamps(15) including 1904 CA 1d horiz strip of three with single ring Clark’s Town in blue, stated to be the only known example.
