artick Tistle Football Club – or the Jags – kicked off the Premiership season by becoming new members

of Glasgow Chamber. Te Jags, part of the fabric of professional football since 1876, are hoping to atract more Glasgow business people, family and friends to come and enjoy their match-day hospitality and, hopefully, see an atractive brand of open and skilful Scotish football. Te club, which moved to its

famous Firhill stadium in 1909 and celebrates its 140th year on 28 October, is a strong proponent of women’s football and is commited to youth development through the Tistle Weir Youth Academy. Ian Maxwell, Partick Tistle

Football Club’s Managing Director,

said: “We’re delighted to be part of the Chamber. We’re keen to enhance our strong connections with Glasgow businesses, particularly the smaller to medium sized firms. Perhaps they haven’t been along to see how Ladbrokes Premiership football has changed. Te bigger teams get a lot of the publicity but we’re striving to deliver professional performances both on and off the field. “We are a very friendly club,

with deep roots in the community. Te familiar adage ‘Firhill for Trills’ is still very much a part of the modern culture. As we celebrate our 140th year, we hope we can entice more regulars who will enjoy the Firhill experience and sample our club history and tradition in Glasgow.’’
