Company carved out a reputation as printers of distinction and a famous Scotish brand. From humble beginnings in Glasgow with

a stationery shop in St Vincent Place and premises in Black Street, Townhead, Watson’s grew to be a global player specialising in labels for the drinks industry in general and the Scotch whisky industry in particular. Tree years ago, he sold the

business to a US company – Multi-Color Corporation in Cincinnati, Ohio, in a multi-million pound deal aſter an incredible 50 years in the printing industry. In 2015, John was named

Scotland’s Entrepreneur of the Year at the prestigious Scotish Business Awards. He has also received a Glasgow Chamber of

Commerce Award for Lifetime Achievement. Te reason behind the creation of Te

Watson Foundation was to “give something back”. It reflects the strong sense of social justice that has guided John’s long and successful business career. He was awarded an OBE in 2006 for

“services to the Scotish printing industry and charitable purposes in Scotland.” In the last three years, Te Watson

Foundation has done a power of good work, offering a helping hand to individuals and various organisations. Notable achievements include support for
