of JayDee AgTech, knows the company wouldn’t have been considered one of the Best of Swift Current, if it wasn’t for the hard work and dedication of his staff. For the second year, JayDee AgTech was


voted Best Agriculture Implement Dealer by Swift Current voters in the annual Prairie Post’s Best of Swift Current promotion. The company, which is a member of the local Chamber of Commerce, was purchased by The Jim Pattison Group May 1, 2014 and employs approximately 208 people.


“Being recognized by customers and the community like this, especially for the second year in a row, is always an endorsement that what you and your staff are doing is what is being desired by the marketplace,” says Smith. “I always accept these recognitions, not for myself, but for the staff who are the frontline who provide the daily service to our customers. Smith says being named “the Best” gives staff the motivation to continue their good work in all areas, including answering the phones, showing up everyday with a positive attitude and providing solutions


to customers’ needs. “Ultimately, ensuring we are partnering with customers in maximizing their return on investment,” adds Smith.


While a repeat win is an endorsement, Smith is aware it means the staff have to up their game this year and work harder to strive to do even better in 2015. JayDee AgTech enjoyed a milestone


event earlier this year when the business moved into its new building in January. Smith calls it a significant accomplishment and one that will help them continue to serve customers better than ever.


“Our new 90-seat in-house training theatre is something customers will experience as a state-of-the-art facility for our optimization clinics,” he adds. While the economy takes a dip, agriculture remains fairly strong.

Smith says the market is off from its peak experience a few years ago, but points out the agricultural industry is cyclical. “This industry is still one of the best to be part of and we are positioned well to weather any downturns,” he adds. Ultimately, JayDee AgTech employees


know it is the customers that lead to the success of any business. “The customers are great to work with,”


says Smith.


He points out some great relationships with clients have been formed as some have brought in snacks and lunches for the staff in appreciation of the service they were provided.


“Our staff are excellent as well with most coming from a grassroots background and understanding our customers’ needs and the work ethic required to service them.”
