Best of Swift Current

Officials with Original Joe’s in Swift Current were surprised to find out they were voted Best Restaurant Patio and Best Pub by city residents in the Prairie Post’s annual Best of Swift Current contest. “We were a little surprised, but very humbled to know that our guest like us so much,” says Tyler Wallin, managing partner. “ We are very dedicated to delivering the very best experience every time, for our guests.” Original Joe’s in Swift Current is a joint

venture operation owned in part by the parent company FranWorks Group of Companies and a local Saskatchewan partner Ryan Peet. Wallin, a managing partner, is a Swift Current local. The fairly new busy restaurant employs about 40 people, most of them part-time. While not currently a member of the Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce, the plan is to join the organization this year to take advantage of its many benefits.

One of the keys to success for Original

Joe’s is the way it treats its customer. Wallin says guests are treated like family. It is also important to create the right atmosphere for those guests. “We have a great patio that gets a lot of sun and really we make it a top priority to provide a clean and inviting atmosphere for all of our guests,” points out Wallin. While it is important to strive to continue a certain level of service for guests, officials with the restaurant are always trying to up their game. Wallin points out staff attempt to deliver the best

experience possible for guests and every aspect of their visit is important. This year, guests will continue to see new seasonal items available with the new Summer Fresh menu rolling out May 7. “We are also very excited to be bringing in the local Black Bridge Brewery to our draught line up,” adds Wallin. Competing for the Best of Swift Current against other restaurants in the city helps keep an establishment such as Original Joe’s on its game. Wallin says it pushes

staff harder to give the best service they can. “ We have to make sure that every day we come to work we are trying to be just a bit better than the last,” he adds. It’s easy to do well in business in Swift Current. For Wallin and company, the best part about doing business in Swift Current, and in fact serving the southwest corner, is “the people, hands down.” “There are a lot of amazing people in this area,” says Wallin, adding they look forward to continuing to give

them their best. Even as the economy across the country

slows down in the wake of lower oil prices and some unemployment, Wallin is confident in the business climate in Swift Current. “We have great faith in the southwest and Swift Current in particular. We are resilient. No matter what problems we may face economically, Swift Current and area will continue to thrive as we have such a strong sense of community,” says Wallin.
