2015 is a special year for Volga-Dnepr Group because it marks the 25th anniversary of our first commercial flight.
‘Over the last 25 years our industry has pushed the boundaries of the types of cargo that can be moved by air and in doing so we have provided our customers with fast, reliable and cost efficient solutions, even for their most complex logistics challenges.’
In celebrating this milestone, we are not simply reflecting on the growth and development of our own business over this period, we are taking an opportunity to acknowledge the valuable role air cargo and logistics plays in the world today, to appreciate the difference it makes to the lives of businesses and to all of us as consumers, and to honour the outstanding work of our industry and the highly skilled people in it.
I am extremely proud to be part of an industry that brings benefits to so many others all over the world, and of the achievements of the Volga-Dnepr Group team.
Over the last 25 years our industry has pushed the boundaries of the types of cargo that can be moved by air and in doing so we have provided our customers with fast, reliable and cost efficient solutions, even for their most complex logistics challenges. The advantages for our customers of reducing transit times for these critical cargoes from literally weeks by surface transport, moving over long distances between continents, to a matter of hours by air cargo cannot be under-estimated.
The ability to move unique, outsize and heavy cargoes to meet quick response times or to offer predictable delivery schedules for large-scale infrastructure projects enables our customers to recover situations quickly, maintain time-critical production schedules and plan effectively. Most importantly of all, it ensures they can keep their promises to their customers.
What we do as an industry is also so diverse. The cargoes we move, for example, help the energy sector provide power to communities across the globe. We deliver satellites that increase and improve international communications. We move heavy construction equipment used to support vital infrastructure projects in both the developed and developing worlds. We are first to react when a man-made or natural disaster endangers lives, and we help to restore stability in parts of the world where peacekeeping forces rely on us to deliver their equipment and supplies.
These are only a handful of examples but they illustrate why air cargo is so vital to the world today.
At Volga-Dnepr, our business is built on our ability to offer guaranteed deliveries of seemingly impossible air cargo shipments, relying of the unique capabilities of our aircraft fleet and the engineering and logistics skills of our people all over the world. We grew fast because we delivered what we promised and this has enabled us to realise more of our strategic objectives.
