A BUSINESS MODEL BUILT FOR TODAY’S MARKET

That is not to say that these challenges cannot be overcome. It simply means that businesses need to be more agile and fl exible to respond quickly to changes in the market, and offer customers more diverse services that give them the option of choosing the most time- and cost-effi cient solutions for all of their requirements. At Volga- Dnepr Group, our business model is built for today’s global market.

The oil price is a good example of a current challenge. While it is good news for airlines in helping to reduce high fuel costs, the bigger picture is that it impacts on the willingness of energy companies to invest

There was a time when the peaks and troughs of global trade would present both prosperous and challenging times for all companies in the supply chain. Today, we work in a world where we are mostly presented by challenges in one form or another.

operations on behalf of humanitarian agencies.

Over the past 25 years we have demonstrated our ability to deliver transportation and logistics services for unique, outsize and heavyweight cargoes and I am delighted to say that our knowledge and expertise is very much in demand among both our existing and new customers. In 2014, over 40 new customers worked with us for the fi rst time and I am confi dent they will continue to grow their partnership with us.

Growth is very much the best word to describe the continued development of AirBridgeCargo, the Group’s scheduled cargo

We are always willing to share our knowledge with our customers and to use it to create the best transport and logistics solutions.

in new projects around the world. This has a domino-effect on all of the suppliers that would typically be providing products and services to support a prosperous oil and gas industry. Nonetheless, we still expect to be involved in many fl ights and projects with our oil and gas customers in 2015.

At Volga-Dnepr Airlines our business is spread across many major industry sectors. In this issue of Cargo Supermarket, we report on our latest work for customers in the oil and gas, mining and aerospace industries as well as our continued

airline. ABC has reported another record year and in 2014 carried over 400,000 tonnes of cargo for the fi rst time. It has ambitious plans for 2015 and, as you will read in this issue, is continuing to invest in the expansion of its modern aircraft fl eet and growing its route network. ABC is a great example of the agility I mentioned earlier and continues to demonstrate its willingness to open new routes where customers have indicated suffi cient support. I expect this will be another exciting year for ABC.
