help you out this fall.


1. When using your trail camera with a “bear-safe lock box”, regardless of the model, make sure to keep an extra key hidden somewhere nearby. I learned this one the hard way! There’s nothing worse than showing up at your camera and not being able to get in.


2. Always keep a good assortment of extra SD memory cards on hand, just in case.


3. When looking for trail camera locations on new territory, keep an eye out for natural bottlenecks in the forest, or an edge-area where field meets forest.


4 Although modern trail cams do boast excellent battery life, having an extra supply of quality alkaline AA batteries on hand is a must. Finally, as with hunting itself, proper trail camera placement takes considerable research.


5. Focus on high traffic areas such as deer trails running between bedding and feeding
