Golden Coast Managing Director Jamie Adams said: “Resources like this are an invaluable sales tool. By allowing the customer to visualise how a new sauna will fit into their home, you free up their imagination to start thinking about the new lifestyle that accompanies it.”

SASHA-MI: SPA AT HOME FROM JACUZZI

The complex and highly bespoke nature of the design of the sauna and steam room almost elevates the facilities to works of art. Whilst not every sauna or steam room can benefit from this amount of design detail, as with the car industry, developments at the high end do tend to filter down into the mainstream market.

TYLÖ EXPANDS MODULAR RANGE Swedish manufacturer Tylö has expanded its range of glass fronts and corner sections for bespoke projects – widening the number of design and construction possibilities available to customers.

Where space is a concern, the sauna can be constructed in a wide variety of sizes, using the selection of prefabricated wall modules and glazed sections, which are made of durable safety glass.

Golden Coast Managing Director Jamie Adams said: “Tylö sauna rooms are a benchmark for sauna design worldwide. This new development ensures that we can

meet every need, while making certain that – whatever shape a sauna may take – it will always benefit from the distinctive contemporary design for which Tylö is known.” For companies selling or thinking about selling saunas, Golden Coast has written an e-book which is free to download from their website.

DON’T TELL THEM, SHOW THEM! A new library of artwork is helping potential owners ‘see’ how their new sauna will fit into their home – long before an installation date. Tylö has created an online library of computer-assisted design (CAD) objects which allow architects, designers and other CAD-friendly professionals to create plans and visuals for customers – in 3D. More than 90 Tylö models feature in the new library, including the new Design Line, a collection of four brand new sauna design concepts. Available for download from tylo.com/ download, resources include 3D and 2D

SASHA-MI maintains its highly innovative technological features in the form of intuitive, user-friendly touchscreen control, included in each module which allows choice from three programmes prepared by expert medical consultants, to achieve the maximum therapeutic benefit.

CASE STUDY Well, Well, Well! It’s Certikin’s Tranquility Range!

The Headland Hotel in Cornwall has earned itself a reputation for being a haven of calm and tranquility, bordered as it is by the soothing sight of the Atlantic Ocean. It is this quality that the owners wanted to capture when it came to the refurbishment of its existing pool with the addition of an impressive wellness suite. The hotel turned to the services of

specialist pool builders of over 13 years standing in the South West, Apex Pool Engineers Ltd of Goonhavern and it was they who recommended the highly sought-after Tranquillity Wellness range from Certikin. Every detail was considered to ensure maximum relaxation and pampering. A Tranquillity Cornish salt steam room, aromatherapy showers and a 3m diameter overflow tiled one-piece spa were all duly installed in time for a grand opening in late spring. Certikin’s Commercial Manager, Steve

Nelson, says: “We also supplied a luxurious sauna with a Kelo wood feature wall. Certikin is able to manufacture any sauna in a vast range of sustainable woods and finishes including Aspen, Alder and Hemlock to name a few.” Heat is provided via a floor standing Harvia heater with a cauldron above it to add

aromatherapy but we also offer an under the bench heating system. Features such as LED and fibre optic lighting and auto dosing on the heater were also included. Paul Heather of Apex Engineers says:

“Throughout the whole project, we worked closely with Certikin’s Commercial division, and in particular Steve Nelson. He was first class in his recommendation of equipment and advice with any installation issues.” Mike Reynolds, Health and Safety Manager

for The Headland says: “Since it was completed in spring, the wellness area has received excellent reviews from our guests and attracted a whole new audience from outside the hotel. The sauna and steam room, in particular, have been very popular. Although state-of-the-art, the complex complements the hotel’s Victorian grandeur. It has definitely been a major factor in increasing business.”
