AQUATROL EXPANDABLE CONTROLLERS
In 2006 Aquatrol Ltd were appointed BECS Technology Inc European distributor. Since 1991 BECS have designed and manufactured thousands of swimming pool controllers; previously marketed under the registered trade mark of Strantrol by Stranco Inc. In 2005 BECS introduced the BECSysTM
line of
water chemistry controllers which includes the BECSy 3 and BECSys 5, while continuing the history of reliability and ease of use, the familiar controllers are back better than ever with more features and capabilities. Aquatrol Ltd will be using the SPATEX 2014 show to launch the latest in the BECSys range of controllers, the new BECSys 7. The BECSys 7 is more than a chemical controller; it’s a fully expandable plant room controller. As standard the BECSys 7 is supplied with total chlorine, free chlorine, pH, conductivity and pH measuring sensors, which will monitor and control the pool water chemistry to ensure the pool stays within predetermined parameters. But the BECSys 7 goes beyond water chemical control, some of the features include, automatic backwash, pressure differential, system flow, flow volume, turbidity or manual. Monitoring the backwash holding tank will prevent overflow. Automatic water make-up will replenish the pool. conservation mode, also a variable frequency drive interface. Flow rates are displayed and logged, a low flow rate will disable chemical feeds.
The unique energy conservation control
functions mean that the controller can control to alternative set points. This means that the pool can
run at lower more cost effective settings, during periods of low usage. The unit also has an energy
conservation mode, a ‘sleep’ mode which suspends mechanical and chemical functions during off hours ‘waking’ periodically to keep water quality in check.
All the above is supported by BECS for
Windows, to enable remote off site control to support email alarm notification.
SIMPLY AUTOMATED POOL DOSING For the comfort and safety of bathers a correctly dosed pool with just the right amount of disinfectant and a stable pH are absolute necessities. Automatic pool dosing systems from Aqua Water Systems are designed to be easy to install, easy to calibrate and have a low maintenance requirement. Simplicity is the watch word for Aqua’s new compact and elegant dosing system for the smaller pool, the Simpool. Designed to be installed with the minimum of fuss and the least amount of interference in the operation of the pool, it offers units for pH control or the dosing of disinfectant. The units are small, unobtrusive and quiet in operation. Maintenance consists of replacement of the dosing tubes and / or electrodes at intervals and performing a user-friendly calibration that is so simple the customer can do it for themselves. Periodic calibration of the unit will ensure that it continues to deliver quality clean water for many years to come. For the larger pool Aqua offers the A-pool dosing system which is supplied as a neat, wall-mounted panel that is attractive as well as functional. From the installer’s point of view, the A-Pool pool dosing panel is delivered with all the equipment required to install the unit; including the connections and pipe work to connect to the pool circulation system. From the customer’s point of view the system will automatically take care of the concentration of chemicals in the pool, never too much, never too little. Available with redox or amperometric chlorine measurement and at a price that will please any customer’s pocket.
CPC CONSTANT FLOCCULATION Continuous flocculation is a process of binding impurities in the swimming pool water into larger particles which are big enough to be trapped in the filtration system. It is strongly recommended by the Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group and importantly

with chlorine resistant infections such as cryptosporidium (a highly infectious
organism that causes chronic cases of severe diarrhoea). Flocpac
Super is the perfect product to be administered via the Flocdos+ pump. The product is ready to use and the system is designed to take the chemical directly from its supply container. The product is dosed at a rate dependant on the pool flow rate i.e. if a pool has a filtration flow of 100m3 dose rate is 0.1 to 0.3ml/m3
/hr the /hr. Therefore
the dose rate should be 10-30ml/hr i.e.240- 720ml/day or 1.7 – 5 litres per week. SPN
