HOT TUB Q&A

Sit Back, Relax And Enjoy The View

THE VANISHING EDGE ‘CASCADE SERIES’ FROM COAST SPAS IS SOMETHING TRULY UNIQUE IN THE HOT TUB WORLD. SPN TALKED TO CANADIAN MANUFACTURERS TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE EXCLUSIVE DESIGN CONCEPT AND THE BENEFITS

Q: WHEN WERE HOT TUBS WITH VANISHING EDGES INTRODUCED BY COAST SPAS? A: Our initial design patent was filed in 2003. At this time we were in the process of finalising the development of the Cascade I, which was launched soon after.

Q: WHAT ARE THE MAIN ADVANTAGES OF HAVING A VANISHING EDGE HOT TUB?

A: There are several aesthetic advantages in the Cascade design style that have different advantages depending on the customer’s tastes and the spa’s installation environment, however strictly speaking from a practical and functional standpoint – there are four huge benefits:

1. Zero Water Displacement – Cascade Spas have been engineered to keep the spa water at the exact same (optimal) level no matter how many (or how few) people are in the spa. This also prevents water from leaving the system, the need to add water frequently to the spa and also saves owners from adding additional chemicals that have been lost over the side of the spa.

2. Skimmer – A traditional spa design skims water from small telescoping skimmers that sit inside the spa area with the bathers. A Cascade Spa uses its gigantic vanishing edge to skim the spa water – which can quickly skim any debris from the spa surface at a rate far superior to that of the much smaller traditional skimmer. 3. All Seating / No

Filter Grate – Cascade Spas use a commercial- grade, pressurised,

Hydro Cyclonic Filtration System. This removes the filters from inside the bathing area and since the Vanishing Edge is responsible for skimming the spa water – there is no need for a filter grate. This allows Cascade Spas to

sport an extremely sleek and stylish design with nothing but premium seating in the spa. No more bubbling and sucking noises from the

bobbing skimmers – Cascade Spas have a true finished interior. 4. View – This is by far one of the largest benefits of a Cascade Spa. With one side of the spa removed, there is nothing blocking your view of the world outside your spa. As with the luxury vanishing edge pools – the experience of looking out (unobstructed) over the a waterline gives a feeling of being one with the environment and is more natural and free than being contained within the traditional spa design.

There are many other benefits, such as having the largest waterfall, an amazing purification system, ergonomic seating etc – however we encourage anyone interested in buying a hot tub to make sure they at least see (hopefully wet- test a running model) for themselves. It truly makes any other spa feel obsolete.

Q: DOESN’T THE

NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN THE HOT TUB CREATE OVERFLOW ISSUES? A: Cascade hot tubs are designed to process the

displaced water easily from a large bather load, so there is no concern from the number of people – the displaced water is collected and held until the occupants leave the spa and then flows back into the bathing area.

might just look better!

Q: DOES THE DESIGN CREATE A PROBLEM FOR A COVER? A: Cascade Spas require a specific cover just like any other hot tub, the only real difference is that instead of having two sections – Cascade covers have three. The third and much smaller section covers the area that catches the water flowing over the vanishing edge. Customers can still use cover-lifters just like any other spa.

Q: DOES ANYONE ELSE PRODUCE VANISHING EDGE HOT TUBS? A: Coast Spas has a patent on the design, so no one else can produce a hot tub like a Cascade Spa.

Q: HOW DO PRICES COMPARE BETWEEN VANISHING EDGE MODELS AND A TRADITIONAL COAST SPAS HOT TUB? A: There is very little difference. In fact you can purchase a Cascade model for much less than you can purchase a traditional spa from our competition. The only additional charge is for the extra equipment that we put into a Cascade Series. We have strived to keep it priced attractively to the end consumer so they get an extremely high value for their hard earned cash.

Q: CAN YOU INSTALL A VANISHING EDGE HOT TUB INTO DECKING OR A SURROUND? A: Absolutely, a large number of Cascade owners integrate their spa into their deck or a surround. Cascade Spas would be no different from a traditional spa in this regard – they
