Stanwell House – the venue for this year’s President’s Weekend

Fun In The Forest!

BSPF PRESIDENT MARTIN BORLEY ALONG WITH WIFE DELYSE HOSTED A WONDERFUL PRESIDENT’S WEEKEND IN PICTURESQUE LYMINGTON IN THE NEW FOREST LAST MONTH.

ttendees were welcomed on Friday 11 October to Stanwell House, a boutique hotel with bags of character situated in the centre of the town, for the beginning of the weekend with an informal get-together over dinner and a chance to catch up on the latest news from the industry (and also one or two football scores from the international football matches that were being played that evening!). Blessed with the weather on Saturday, the sun came out and the main activity started with a fun-filled treasure hunt around the New Forest, captured in snapshots along the route. A pub lunch in Lymington was followed by visits to various locations within the New Forest and it soon became clear who had the

skilled map readers and who fancied going to the pub instead!

If all this wasn’t enough, after a great day out and about, everyone then met back at Stanwell House for the Saturday evening entertainment, which commenced with a cocktail reception, in readiness for a murder mystery dining experience. Whilst everyone enjoyed their drinks and presentations from the day’s treasure hunt, lead by Charlie Fraser from ‘Seriously Cool Events’, the evening event soon got into full swing. While guests were enjoying their pre dinner drink, suspects arrived on the scene, for the diners to study the case to uncover the mystery of who murdered ‘Dougie Paddle’. The suspects were introduced as

Ian Deepend, Butterfly Crawl, Irma Diva and Lee King. As you can tell from the suspects’ names, it was all very ‘tongue in cheek’ and added to an entertaining, competitive and enjoyable evening for all.

After the meal, it was time to relax in the bar and catch up with more news from the industry. The President’s Weekend always provides an opportunity to meet up with colleagues in a relatively informal setting and SPATA and BISHTA members are able to attend this event, along with any guests they wish to invite. For anyone interested in hosting a corporate event, including team building, visit www.seriouslycoolevents.com or call Charlie on 0845 871 0166.
