BUSINESS MAGAZINE AWARDS 2013
THAMES VALLEY
The Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards gala evening will be held on November 21, 2013 at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre
The Thames Valley boasts some of the most dynamic and successful companies in the UK. Even in the current recession it remains the cauldron of the country’s high-technology industries, the home of many manufacturing companies and a base for a wide variety of excellent service and professional organisations.
The Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards (TVBMA) are open to every company in the Thames Valley area and recognise not only profitability, innovation and employment but also the contribution made to the local economic community and the provision of support to culture and charities in the region.
This year's awards will be presented at a glittering black–tie dinner to be held at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre at the Madejski Stadium in Reading. The Royal Berkshire Conference Centre is the largest conference facility in the Thames Valley and is part of the impressive Madejski Stadium Complex. The stadium is home of the London Irish Rugby Club and Reading Football Club.
The 201 bedroom Millennium Madejski
Hotel is linked to the conference centre and offers four-star deluxe accommodation for guests travelling from outside the region.

What can entering the Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards 2013 do for your business?
GCS – Best Company to Work For 2010 and Thames Valley Business of the Year 2010
Company founder and managing director Chris Bartlett, said: “In 2010 GCS was shortlisted in two categories in the Thames Valley Business Magazine Awards. We were thrilled when we won “Best Company to work for in the Thames Valley” and amazed when we also won “Thames Valley Business of the Year” on the same evening. We had taken the opportunity to invite 10 members of the GCS team and for the first time 10 'other halves' – the immediate impact in terms of motivation and pride was palpable. Both awards sit proudly in our Reading reception and are often commented on by visitors. The subsequent benefits for GCS from winning these awards have been twofold. They have certainly helped with our profile amongst more senior managers in the Thames Valley region and they have also played their part in attracting new employees to GCS. Potential recruits are inspired by the fact that GCS is recognised by our peers in the Thames Valley as being one the one of the best places to work.”
Phabrix – SME of the Year 2011
Erica Adams, creative director of Phabrix, said: “Winning our category of SME of the year in the Thames Valley was a huge accolade. Knowing that the judges, who have extensive backgrounds in the running of successful businesses, had looked closely at our business practices and results and chosen Phabrix, confirmed to us that we are on the right track for a bright future. The award boosted our confidence, encouraging us to continue with our bold plans which have continued to grow strongly. We have invested heavily this year in a new product range and facility. The award ceremony was great fun, although I was very nervous going up to collect our award. As a networking event we met many professionals who have become useful advisers. As a company within our industry our products are establishing an excellent reputation for quality and reliability, it was great to have that same endorsement of our business practices.”
