LEWISTOWN This small town was once home to Edgar Lee Masters and inspiration for
Spoon River Anthology. The graves of many of the characters are found in Oak Hill cemetery. Nearby Dickson Mounds Museum recounts Native American history in the river valley and the large-scale restoration of The Nature Conservancy Emiquon Preserve attracts a diverse variety of migratory birds year round.
