New at IBC will be a Vizrt Skype interface, which provides tools for the newsroom and production staff to interface with Skype calls directly from the firm’s newsroom systems: Viz Trio and Viz Content Pilot. The company’s real-time 3D compositing engine, Viz Engine, is receiving a “major” update to its capabili- ties in the form of IP streaming. It can render real-time content and output the IP stream for distribution to the web and mobile devices. WOHLER DVMTAKES CENTRE STAGE
Wohler Technologies’ updated DVM suite of MPEG video monitors will take centre stage at the firm’s stand at IBC. The new features are intended to boost the monitors’ I/O flexi- bility and processing capabilities. The moni- tors decode and display MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 signals and give users the ability to browse the PAT, PMT and PID tables for selected streams. OBJECT MATRIX UNVEILS QUATTRO
Storage firm Object Matrix is to launch its MatrixStore Quattro at this year’s IBC. The compact nearline storage platform is designed for small production facilities, on-site rushes protection and OB workflows. It provides 32TB of raw disk storage in four MatrixStore nodes. Chyron has launched a new broadcast graphics platform. The HyperXLP is a dual-channel, 1-RU system aimed at news, sports and OB productions. Features include an Intel multi-core processor, solid- state storage and native stereoscopic 3D
multi-channel, solid-state recording, monitor- ing and playback system with eight removable SSD drives. The system’s file-based workflow natively records into a variety of video codecs, with capture resolutions that include HD- 1080i, 1080p, 1080PsF, 720p, HD-2K, 4K and SD-PAL/NTSC, and 480. SNELL BOOST TO INFRASTRUCTURE
Snell has a range of IQ Modular products designed to extend the life of a broadcaster’s SD or HD infrastructure. The modules include low latency and ‘virtually lossless’ video com- pression for high-bandwidth HDTV signals to be transported over existing SDI infrastruc- ture. MATROX ADDS TO HARDWARE

PROMEDIA XPRESS MAKES DEBUT
Harmonic’s new ProMedia Xpress file-based transcoder, the latest addition to the compa- ny’s ProMedia Suite multiscreen system, will be showcased at IBC.
