INTERNATIONAL NEWS NORWAY ● NDS EQUIPS CANAL DIGITAL


NDS has equipped pay-TV provider Canal Digital with an end-to-end hybrid infrastructure for satellite and OTT service delivery. It will enable subscribers to Norwegian broadcaster Canal Digital to access content on multiple devices. The platform, which will provide a scal- able service, will be powered by a hosted NDS Unified Headend.


POLSAT GROUP DEVELOPS NETWORK POLAND ●


Polish telecommunications company Info-TV-Operator is installing a national network of Harris DVB-T2-ready Maxiva UAX TV transmitters to support a new DVB-T network. The 43 Maxiva UAX air- cooled UHF solid-state transmitters range in power from 500W to 2kW. The transmission network will support the first subscription digital terrestrial tele- vision (DTT) service from broadcaster the Polsat Group.


ATG COMPLETES TV4 HD CHANNEL SWEDEN ●


ATG Broadcast has completed the build of a second high-definition sports chan- nel for Swedish broadcaster TV4. The contract centres on the expansion of an existing HD playout facility installed by ATG Broadcast in 2011. The latest instal- lation provides playout facilities for TV4’s SportXtra HD channel, which is equipped for 1080i operation and cabled to allow future expansion to 1080p.


PARTER BUYS GRASS VALLEY ASSETS GERMANY ●


Equity investment firm Parter Capital Group has bought the assets and resources of Grass Valley’s systems inte- gration team based in Weiterstadt, Ger- many. The group consists of engineers and specialists that design and build out- side broadcast vehicles as well as produc- tion and broadcast facilities across EMEA. It acquired the division through its sub- sidiary Broadcast Technology Solutions.
