About the Author Orlean Koehle State President, Eagle Forum of California


Orlean and her husband, Kurt Koehle, are the parents of five sons, one daughter, and five grandchildren. Mrs. Koehle grew up on a farm in rural Idaho, attended Idaho Falls High School, and was selected to serve as Miss Idaho Falls. After her graduation from Brigham Young University, she later taught speech, drama, and journalism at a Junior High in Idaho Falls. She has been substitute teaching in Sonoma County for 16 years. Her husband is an administrator at Sonoma State University, and they live on acreage outside of Santa Rosa.


Since 2002, Mrs. Koehle has been serving as the State President of Eagle Forum of California. Eagle Forum is the conservative, pro-family, pro-traditional values organization started by Phyllis Schlafly, back when she was fighting the Equal Rights Amendment.


Orlean has also served as


President of Concerned Citizens of Sonoma County, Parents Involved in Education, Vice President of Santa Rosa Republican Women Federated and Editor for their newsletter, and continues as President of Sonoma County Eagle Forum. She was recently reelected for her 4th term as a member of the Sonoma County Republican Central Committee.


In 2006 she started an


organization to protect rural property rights - Sonoma County Land Rights Coalition and served as its president. She was honored by the Pacific Justice Institute as the California State “2006 Faith and Community Award Recipient” for her many years in voluntary service in her community, county and state.


Mrs. Koehle served as a counselor and speaker for more than twelve years for summer youth camps “Freedom Generation” in California and twice in Utah. Much of her information for her book By Stealth and Deception came from the great speakers and information that she received at the camps. She has been a guest speaker for various conservative groups throughout California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho, and for Eagle Forum conferences in St. Louis, Missouri and Washington D.C. She has been interviewed on television and talk radio programs.


She is the author of several published books: Looking at Lincoln, A History and Guide to Lincoln, Nebraska; The Golden Rule School - Character Education; A Closer Look at the Real ID Act of 2005, and her latest book that was published in 2010 - By Stealth and Deception, USA Transformation and Its Parallel to the European Union. The book has been endorsed by National Eagle Forum President, Phyllis Schlafly; Dr. Jerome Corsi, author and writer for World Net Daily; and national radio host, Dr. Stan Monteith of Radio Liberty broadcasting from Santa Cruz, CA.
