FOUR suspected thieves were due to appear in court in connection with a series of burglaries at six auction houses in the south of England last year. Two thefts took place at Gorringes
in Lewes, East Sussex, in May and June; three at Toovey’s in Washington, West Sussex, in May, June and October; one at Denhams in Warnham, West Sussex, in July; one at Concord in Cranbrook, Kent, in June; one at Stroud Auctions in Stroud, Gloucestershire, in October; and another at JS Auctions in Banbury, Oxfordshire, in July. Items stolen included antique clocks,

He is charged with the nine burglaries mentioned, and is also charged with possession of cannabis and amphetamine, and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice in relation to the burglary in Stroud.

Porcelain museum has plush new image
WORCESTER Porcelain Museum will be launching a new look by unveiling items never seen before at the Antiques for Everyone fair in July. Formerly known as the Dyson Perrins
collection, it has been renamed the Museum of Royal Worcester. At the NEC show in Birmingham the
museum launches its “new identity”, exhibiting pattern books, film and archive material, journals and designs. Past Royal Worcester artists, gilders and printmakers will be demonstrating their skills.

Among the rare items on show at
the NEC event from July 19-22 are hand-painted pattern books and the “Flight diary”, written by John Flight in 1789 during his travels in France when researching the production of porcelain.
