The sale includes The Macallan-50 year old-1928, bottle number “03”, £10,000 - 12,000, two Macallan Millennium -50 year old Caithness Glass decanters, £5,000 - 6,000 each, a selection of rare and collectable older malts, Black Bowmore-1964, £2,000 - 2,500, various vintages of Highland Park and a good selection of old and rare blended whiskies.


Historical photographs by Francis Frith, Robert MacPherson and others as well as a large number of British, European and Asian topographical views comprise the first part of the sale. Also included are a first edition of Samuel Beckett’s Murphy (sold for the benefit of Oxfam), an “unpublished manuscript by Beatrix Potter” written in her biographer Leslie Linder’s hand and a copy of the rare third impression of Tolkien’s The Hobbit. A number of books of Welsh interest and sections of Science and Medicine, Travel and Natural History (including 108 volumes of the New Naturalist series) also feature.
