What Do You Know About General John Stark?
Monday, June 18th at 7pm at the Old Town Hall in
Campton, We all know the motto “Live Free or Die” – but how much do
we know about the man behind the motto? An introduction into the life and times of New Hampshire’s famed military hero - from his childhood in Amoskeag (now Manchester), capture by Indians as a young man, military service under Robert Rogers in the French & Indian War, his brilliant Revo- lutionary War command, and retirement in relative obscurity. Richard C. Wright will be dressed as General Stark in military attire and welcome questions from the audience during this one hour presentation. Richard is a 30-year student of American history and ge-
nealogy, and has held numerous offices in the Sons of the American Revolution and other hereditary societies, including Genealogist General for the Order of Founders & Patriots. With primary focus on the period between 1740 and 1812, he has extensively researched General John Stark, French & Indian war veteran and Revolutionary War hero. The presen- tation is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. The Old Town Hall is handicap
accessible located at 529 Rt 175 in Campton which is about 1/2 mile North of Blair Rd off I-93 at Exit 27. For information about the Society visit
