I have always used insu- lin as a part of my regime to control my diabetes. Medical ly speaking, I am not an insulin de- pendent diabetic (medi- cally known as Type-1 diabetic) But Dr. Walsh advised me to overcome my strong disdain for needles (syringes) and to include insulin as a part of controlling my blood glucose. He advised that using insulin would greatly simplify and en- hance my control. This

advice has proven to be as good now as when it was given. However, in- sulin, a non-prescription item, has become out- rageously expensive at most pharmacies. I used to have it shipped in ice packs from a Canadian Pharmacy, because it was cheapest that way. But now, WalMart, Sam’s Club, et al, seem to be the most reasonable. The WalMart that’s the shortest trip from Wolfe- boro is on Route 11 in

Rochester. For some reason, this location has always seemed to me to be the longest most te- dious ride possible. I used to resort to hav-

ing my ex-wife pick my insulin up at a WalMart near where she l ives, but now she no longer comes to Wolfeboro. To avoid these dreaded trips and lower the gasoline expense associated with procuring insulin, I buy 10-vials at a time, which See RAMBLING on 13
