The Video Revolution Is Coming To Dartmouth! i


n late March/early April, by the Dart magazine will be roll- ing out a new website that takes advantage of the revolution in video that is transforming the way we currently use the internet. “ByTheDart.TV” will feature editorial and promotional video content to show off Dartmouth, the surrounding area and its local businesses at their best. Dartmouth is hugely photogenic and events such as the regatta, the Music Festival etc can all be best illustrated through video - a picture tells a story, a moving picture can tell a whole lot more! According to industry research, there are currently 60 hours of video being uploaded to Youtube every minute of every day. in fact, Cisco, a company that helps manage the internet infrastructure, is scrambling to re-engineer its routers to deal with what they call the “video onslaught;” e.g. they’re predicting that by 2015 at least 90% of all internet traffic will be video. More than half of all web traffic after 5pM is AlreADY video traffic. well, by the Dart is helping to play its part. we’ve

partnered with local video production company, Heritage Media, to launch a video rich website that will illustrate what makes Dartmouth so special. we’ll be adding video to it over time, covering key events, interviews with local people and much more. we aim to support it with promotional videos from local businesses whether from attractions, art galleries, retailers, hotels or activities etc that we hope will entertain
