Sixth form Be the best you can be…only better
It is rather sad that there is such pressure at Sixth Form for single sex schools to turn to a co-educational intake. The fi nal two years of school are crucial; the years when pupils really embed their academic understanding and make life changing decisions about their future. It is when they take on responsibilities, develop the most constructive and supportive relationships with their teachers and, more importantly, plan for and secure their place on the next stage of their educational journey. All of this, research, data and experience shows, is much more productive in a single sex environment. With outstanding pastoral care, excellent subject teaching and creative and challenging co-curricular opportunities, girls in an all girls’ sixth form really can be the best they can be. They can excel in the sciences, challenge themselves in maths and be the very best engineers. They can take the leading roles in the music and drama productions, be the senior prefect body, have the best sports coaches and provision of facilities, and, crucially, not be stereotyped. Research shows, time after time, that girls do better in a single sex environment in all aspects of their development. Without the judgements and stereotyping that can come with the pressures of a co-educational school, in a girls school your daughter can really be the best that she can be… only better!
