training machines and more. In addition to the bright and beau-
tiful gymnasiums, the CRC also offers a unique elliptical-shaped spin and wellness studio and an innovative fit- ness centre that focuses on functional movement training. Weight room and personal training staff are trained on the principles and benefits of func- tional movement training and assist patrons in adapting their traditional weight training routines to take full advantage of the wide range of func- tional training equipment. CRC provides outstanding cus-
tomer service and unique programs along with programming for the entire family. The centre’s focus is on build- ing participation, community engage- ment and customer retention. We offer the community a modern multi-gen- erational facility with a wide range of recreation activities and programs for all levels and ages. We encourage staff members to participate in a variety of our recreation programs and services so they can speak from personal expe- riences when responding to customer inquiries.

Looking forward As the city’s newest recreation cen-
tre, our immediate focus is on build- ing public awareness about the variety of services and activities that we offer and ensuring that we understand and are addressing the community’s needs
and interests. Other goals include en- suring that our services are accessible and inclusive through fee subsidies, connecting with groups not currently using our services, building relation- ships with vulnerable populations, en- hancing our cultural awareness and working to provide more variety in participation options.
